Original illustrations of all the Newton Heath and Manchester United kits since 1878. As well as both the home and change kits, we have included third kits, where applicable, and special commemorative and variant kits. Our intention is to provide the definitive on line research source.
Featured Kit
The classic Admiral change kit 1975-1980. Contributor Marvin Nash has sent a fascinating account of it's launch.

The illustrations are backed up by contemporary photographic or written evidence which has been carefully authenticated. On occasion we have had to make assumptions due to the limitation of black and white photography, but we have explained our reasoning behind each decision to allow you to reach your own conclusions.
The material on this web site
The original graphics and illustrations contained on this site are the copyright of Tim Ashmore and all rights are reserved. Infringement of this copyright may lead to legal action. Should you wish to reproduce any of the illustrations please contact us, detailing the particular illustrations you wish to use, and the purpose of your work/project.
Tim is meticulous in his attention to detail. As most of the photographic evidence on which we rely is in black and white, accurate colour representation could be a problem. Once he has designed a kit it is temporarily converted to gray scale and compared with the photographic evidence. If necessary the colours are changed until they are a true representation of the photograph, and only then is the kit published on the web site.
Wherever it has been possible we have included photographic evidence to support the illustrations. We believe that the majority of the photographs reproduced are out of copyright, or have been supplied by individuals with permission to publish on this site. We have taken all reasonable steps to avoid infringement of copyright, but should this inadvertently have been broken please contact us.
Our thanks to
Dave Moor at Historical Football Kits for the inspiration for this site and Leslie Millman, who has allowed us permission to use photographs from his unrivalled collection of United memorabilia.
