Kevin Moran was a fearless central defender who always gave 100% to the United cause. He was discovered by legendary Irish scout Billy Behan playing for Pegasus in Dublin, and moved to Old Trafford in February 1978.

Moran made his début at Southampton in April 1979 but had to wait until the 1980/81 season to claim a regular first team place, standing in for the injured Gordon McQueen.

Moran continued as a regular at the heart of United's defence until his release shortly after his testimonial. His total appearances were limited by injuries, often inflicted because of his brave defend at all cost style, Moran's best season was probably 1983/84 when he missed just four League games and helped United to a top four finish.

A victim of Alex Ferguson's team rebuilding, Moran was 32 when he left Old Trafford. He had a spell at Sporting Gijon before returning to England in January 1990 to play for Blackburn Rovers.

After amassing over 150 appearances for Rovers Moran eventually retired at the end of the 1993/94 season. He set up Proactive Sports Management with Jesper Olsen in 1994, and has represented John O'Shea, Andy Cole and Wayne Rooney amongst others.
